The Center for E3S extends our congratulations to Professor David Zubia, the Center’s faculty at The University of Texas at El Paso (UTEP) as the new $4.5 million nanofabrication cleanroom facility is formally opened with a ribbon cutting ceremony. For the last ten years, there has been an overall initiative to expand academic and research programs in semiconductors at UTEP, which started with seed funding from Texas Instruments Foundation. Professor Zubia, who has been the lead faculty in establishing this advance facility for nanotechnology research, shared that “the grand opening has resulted from four years of intensive efforts: two years to design and construct the Nanofabrication Facility and another two years to install equipment and develop technology.” This facility provides advanced experimental capacities as Professor Zubia pursues his research that is part of the Center for E3S research program.
